Fantastik Ovo D’Oro
The “Ovo” Collection is one of Storms’ only muse inspired sculptures and this version, Fan-tastik Ovo D'Oro contains touches of exquisite gold glass. The artist modeled the new design from the “Golden Mean Egg”. Using natural geometry, he set to shape and polish. The result is a form that is as beautiful as it is difficult to create. The Fantastik Deluxe crosscut core made with a cold glass technique developed by Jack Storms. It takes the artist 18 to 24 months to finish each one of these unique pieces of fine art. There are no straight lines within this piece what-soever. The results? Think about a golden egg, now think about a diamond, now put them to-gether in one piece – right there you have the Fantastik Ovo D'Oro.
Each one of Jack Storms cold glass sculptures starts at the core, the artist cuts, grinds, polishes and laminates together the glass literally hundreds of times until he can get the core design he is looking for. Jack is known for using the theory of Fibonacci as reference for all of his glass designs of contemporary art. He then encases the core into optical crystal and hand sculpts each piece to shape. Each one of his glass sculptures takes from six to twenty four weeks to create and all of his pieces are original pieces of fine art. All of Jack Storms glass sculptures are done cold. There is no heat involved in the process whatsoever. The materials used on each one of Jack Storms’ glass sculptures are 32% optical lead crystal, optical crystal and dichroic glass.
