Owain Pyramid
Owain Pyramid
Jack Storms' newest masterpiece is a tribute to the undeniable love he has for his son Owen. In addition to bearing his son's name, the Owain Collection marks the first collaboration between father and son. Like his father, Owen is naturally drawn to geometric artistry, making this co-creation the perfect partnership!
One day, while playing with his father, Owen began stacking and arranging building blocks into various patterns and formations. Intuitively, Owen suggested that his father replicate his creations using glass. Jack, initially amused by his young one's suggestion, was suddenly struck with inspiration when he realized that his son had just birthed his newest cold glass sculpture collection!
Thanks to Owen, Jack now shares labors of love with his Owain collections. Labors of love yield the very best manifestations. This is more than undeniable when learning about the inspiration behind the Owain Collection.
Each one of Jack Storms cold glass sculptures starts at the core. The artist then cuts, grinds, polishes and laminates the glass together, hundreds of times; until he achieves the core design he aspires for. Jack is known to reference the theory of Fibonacci throughout ideation and creation of all his glass designs. He then encases the core into optical crystal and hand sculpts each piece to shape. Each one of his glass sculptures takes anywhere from six to twenty four weeks to create and all of his artworks are original pieces of fine art. All of Jack Storms glass sculptures are designed using a cold-working lathe. There is no heat involved in the process whatsoever. The materials used on each one of Jack Storms’ glass sculptures are 32% optical lead crystal, optical crystal and dichroic glass.
